The succulent but impressively intense middle weight flavors are less generous but notably finer while exhibiting outstanding length on the bone-dry finale. This classy and tightly wound effort is also potentially excellent and well-worth considering.

slightly musky, nutty bouquet – much more intriguing than the Chablis Village. The palate is well balanced with lemon, lime and a touch of bitterness on the entry. I appreciate the edginess of this Chablis and the bite on the saline finish. Excellent.

A cool, fresh and markedly floral-scented nose offers up ripe aromas of purple fruit, especially plum, along with background hints of warm earth and anise. Once again there is a lovely sense of verve to the well-delineated and mineral-inflected and rather linear finish that is muscular and powerful. This is very tightly wound and will need extended keeping to flesh out but the development potential is superb.

This domaine was founded in 2003 by Cécile. Biodynamic methods are used to work out the harmonic relationship between soil, plants and the environment. The grape harvest is 100% manual work and the aging takes place between 15 and 18 months in different wooden barrels. True feminine masterpieces are created, which impress with their elegance and delicacy. The Echezeaux Grand Cru “Du Dessus” is one of the greats of the Côte de Nuits and comes from vines that are over 50 years old.
