Chorey-lès-Beaune les Beaumonts, from purchased grapes, has attractive blackberry and raspberry fruit on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and quite minerally, showing impressive precision on the finish. Recommended.
The 2018 Savigny-lès-Beaune Village has a pastille-like purity on the nose of red cherries and wild strawberry aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with a touch of spice on the entry, and well balanced; a little earthiness surfaces toward the finish.
It has an attractive bouquet of black plum and raspberry on the nose, touches of wild hedgerow emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, a mixture of red and black fruit with a subtle chalky texture lending edginess on the finish, plus a dash of black pepper on the aftertaste.
Corton Blanc Grand Cru comes from a single parcel that is just 0.08 hectares in size (or just one barrel, one year old, maximum.) It has an effervescent bouquet of orange zest, apricot and light almond aromas. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity, a judicious touch of sour lemon complementing the slightly honeyed texture that comes through toward the finish.
Savigny les Beaune Blanc has a very attractive bouquet with vivacious aromas of green apple, nectarine and a touch of ginger. This offers impressive complexity considering it is a mere village cru. The palate is very well balanced with fine salinity straight from the start. Nicely focused and harmonious, this just seems to caress the sense as it departs. What a well crafted Savigny Blanc.
Color Dark, dense ruby
Aromatic Black fruit dominated by notes of violets and peonies. Initially closed, but a little oxygenation brings out notes of sweet spice and a complex, meaty aroma.
Palate Big, bold and muscular, the wine is very rich on the middle palate, with the aromatics continuing through to the finish. A good structure also through to the finish.

Palate Initially closed, with remarkable complexity and structure. Beautifully integrated with good acidity and a hint of chalkiness on the finish.

Palate Initial purity on the palate. The elegance of the fruit compliments rather than masks the tannins. Finishes with a chalky mineral mouthfeel.

Aromatic Fully ripe wild berries with a spicy undertone, slightly roasted from the ageing which also brings out a complex bouquet of red flower floral notes.
Palate Fruit forward at the beginning with a balanced tannic structure showing later. Fresh and consistently aromatic finish.
